BALTIMORE, MD – South Carolina State freshman Shaneka Lee is seventh after four events in the women's heptathlon at the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference track and field championship on the campus of Morgan State.
Coppin State's Natoya Baird leads the heptathlon with 2,990 points.
Lee has compiled 2,544 total points after four events, including the high jump where she finished second -- her best showing of the day – among 13 competitors. She was seventh in the 100 meters, eighth in the 200 meters and 10th in the shot put.
The final three events – long jump, javelin and 800 meters will be conducted Friday.
The men's decathlon was the only other event that was contested on Thursday.
